There are 11 Karana, the first 6 movable Karanas or Chara are considered auspicious. The 7th Chara, along with the 4 Sthira Karanas, are considered inauspicious. This means being born on the 29th, 30th, and the first half of the 1st Tithi is considered inauspicious.

Moveable Karana (Char)

Bava – Also known as ‘Simha Karanam’ (Lion), symbolizes sexual or creative energy.

This Karana is suitable for both fixed tasks like planting seeds and all moving tasks like transportation. Bava Karana natives have a strong spiritual bent. They work tirelessly and with the utmost sincerity. They are typically liberally inclined, wealthy, and content. These people are qualified for all jobs, whether they are temporary or long-term.

Balava – Also known as “Puli Karanam,” this animal is beneficial for Yajna, Homa (fire worship), Vedic study, etc. Most people who are born in this Karana are religious and may make multiple pilgrimages over their lifetime. They are also very spiritual and aware of auspicious times and events, just like Bava Karana-born people. They are daring, fortunate, and playful by nature, and they spend a lot of time participating in religious activities.

Kaulava –  It is also known as “Panni Karanam,” and it represents a traditional family. People born in Kaulava typically take the conventional route or work the conventional career. They are beneficial for all fixed or Sthira Karma, such as long-lasting friendships, agreements, and other types of relationships. They are sociable and easily make friends with anyone. They love and care for others. These people are suited for all types of work and are usually great for friendships. They can also be very secretive and fickle-minded. 

Taitila – Also known as “Kazhuta Karanam,”(Donkey) is a symbol of respect. People born in Taitila excel at jobs requiring authority and decorum. They have plenty of money. These people’s life revolves heavily around love. For positions in the government, they are ideal. Additionally, they have the ability to acquire real estate and buildings. They are firm and fierce in their attitude, adventurous, and heroic; love plays a significant role in their lives.

Gara – Also known as ‘Gaja Karanam’ (Elephant), it symbolizes demanding nature. Those born in Gara Karana are very punctual. They like to have a disciplined life. Panchang Dosh (पंचांग दोष- करण और नक्षत्र): When the planetary lord of Nakshatra and Karna is the Same is Called Panchang Dosh. 

Example1: Suppose a Person is born in Nakshatra of Venus (Bharni) and his Karna is Vanija the Lord of Vanij Karna is again Venus. Now As we know the basic fundamentals of punchang, Karna is ruled by Earth Element and Nakashtra is ruled by Air Element. Now, Venus is the single lord for both Nakshatra and Karna, this is called as Panchang dosh in astrology.

Example 2: Planetary Lord of Karan and Nakshatra is in Conjunction below 12^0, Suppose a Person is born in Bava Karan and Nakshatra is Mrigshira, Now if in his birth chart there is a Conjunction or Strong relations of Karn Lord Sun and Nakshatra lord Mars then this is a Panchang Dosh.

Note: If your Birth chart has Panchang dosh of Karn and Nakshatra, this shows either you have a bad Public Personality / Emotional health or troubled  Career / Professional life, both things will not be perfect in your case, only one thing will be perfect.

Example1: Suppose a Person born on Monday the Lord of Vaar Moon is sitting in the 8th house, 12th house, 6th house or afflicted by Saturn or Rahu, Shows Bad health for the Native.

Example2: Suppose a Person is born on Saturday (Vaar Lord-Saturn) on Saptami tithi (Lord of Saptami is Saturn), Now we can see the Lordship of Vaar and tithi comes under the Single Planet Saturn, is called panchang dosh.

Example 3: Planetary Lord of Vaar and tithi is in Conjunction below 12^0, Suppose a Person is born on Sunday and tithi is Saptami, Now if in his birth chart there is a Conjunction of Vaar Lord Sun and Tithi lord Saturn then this is a Panchang Dosh.

Note: If your Birth chart has Panchang dosh of Vaar and Tithi, this shows either you have bad health or troubled  Marriage life, both things will not be perfect in your case, only one thing will be perfect.
