Subsequent developments in this field led to astrology being classified into six skandhas instead of the earlier three. These were Ganita, Samhita, Hora, Shakun, Muhrat and Prashna. Muhurat, the fifth skandha, deals with finding out the auspicOUS moment for doing any work based on nakshatra, tithi, vaar ete. and related to the natal as well as transit position of panets. Prashna Kundali, the sixth skandha, deals with the casting of horoscopes Tor the time of query, event or thought, and forms the subj matter of this book. No skandha can be dealt with in isolation.

The basis of Prashna
The birth chart is constructed for the precise moment of birth of a child. Similarly, the prashna kundali (Chart) is constructed for the moment when the querist approaches the astrologer for knowing his future. How to see the Disease and Recovery of Patient from which house?

In the prashna kundali the ascendant is the Doctor, 4th house is the treatment, 7th house is the disease and 10th house is the patient. Hence the four kendras assume importance in this analysis. Ascendant not only means the Doctor but every thing connected with him, his ability, diagnosis, understanding etc. Similarly the remaining kendras, in order, are to be seen for treatment, disease, and the patient respectively. Treatment includes the medicine, the disease includes the acute or chronic stages, whether the disease is complicated, the possibility of its cure, and finally the patient includes his cooperation or willingness in taking medicines and precautions. I have observed that 10H indicates the behavior and willpower of the patient more than the patient himself.
