Maandi and Gulika in Astrology | Predictive Astrology

In astrology, the prediction of events is influenced by various factors, including the positions and movements of celestial bodies. However, the consideration of certain factors, such as Mandi and Gulika, varies among astrologers. While some astrologers consider them for prediction, not all do. It is more prevalent in South India than in the North. Therefore, it may not be necessary to take their effects into account, especially if you are not in South India.

This is a very interesting story placement of gulika or maandi where ever whichever the sit-in house of the birth chart will reduce beneficence of that house and will destroy all effects of that house.

Story of Maandi and Gulika in Astrology

According to astrology, the demon king Ravana once captured all 9 planets by forcing them to act as he wished, causing them great distress. Ravana was a very intelligent man who desired immortality and did not want to be killed by any god or goddess. His main goal in capturing all the planets was to make his son, Meghanad Indrajeeth, the most powerful of all the gods. Ravana cleverly planned his son’s birth so that all the planets would be situated in the 11th house, ensuring that his son would attain the status of Mrithyunjaya and never die.

However, before the birth of Indrajeeth, Saturn and Jupiter were discussing the consequences of all the planets sitting in the 11th house. They realized that if this were to happen, Ravana’s son would never die, which was not fair according to dharma. To prevent this from happening, Saturn and Jupiter created two small planets, known as upagrahas, named Mandi and Gulika. They threw these planets into the 12th house so that their influence would be on Indrajeeth, giving him the power of death afflicting.

Saturn’s role in the downfall of Ravana and his kingdom was significant, and Lord Hanuman helped Saturn by freeing him from imprisonment imposed by Ravana. Saturn was very grateful and declared that Saturday was his day, and those who prayed to Hanuman and offered archana, nivedya, aaku pooja, and vada mala on Saturdays would receive fewer bad effects from Saturn.

Ravana was an expert in selecting auspicious moments or muhurtas. His ultimate goal was to capture all the planets and use their powers to destroy Lord Srimanarayana. However, Ravana did not expect that Lord Narayana would take human form and defeat him in battle, resulting in his ultimate demise. His mission to destroy was thwarted by the grief-stricken yet intelligent Ravana.
